In 1922, Raymond E. DeWalt perfected the first radial arm saw for the purpose of filling a special need in woodworking operations. Two years later he formed DeWalt Products Company and found success selling high quality, reliable tools. Later, Raymond sold the company to Black & Decker who were, at the time, making professional tools under the Black & Decker black and orange brand. After some time, the professional brand was changed to DeWalt and the yellow and black tools stormed onto the power tool industry. Today, the DeWalt power tools line boasts over 250 electric tools and 800 accessories including drills and hammerdrills; all types of saws such as circular, chop, table, reciprocating, jig and miter; planers; grinders; shears; nibblers; routers and much more. Many of these tools are also available in cordless versions. The signature yellow and black has come to signify a product that customers can count on to outlast the toughest conditions in the market today at a fair price.
